You fulfil the most important criteria for donating blood. There is a good chance that you can give blood now.
Please note: We will check on site whether your blood pressure and haemoglobin values (indication of iron deficiency) are suitable for blood donation.

If you have a cold, runny nose, sore throat or cough
You can give blood once the symptoms have subsided.
If you have a fever of over 38° Celsius or (gastrointestinal) flu
You can give blood 2 weeks after you have fully recovered.

Skin injuries can be entry points for bacteria and viruses. To protect blood recipients from these, small skin injuries must be closed, dry and not inflamed. Cold sores and larger wounds must be healed.
Medicine

Vaccination
There are waiting periods of between 48 hours and 4 weeks for a vaccination. Check your vaccination in the vaccination check, via the freephone number 0800 148 148 or via info@ichspendeblut.ch.

Check your travel destination in the Travel Check. In certain regions there is a risk of infectious diseases such as dengue or malaria. Even if you take the best possible precautions when travelling, there is a small residual risk that you may be infected without knowing it.
West Nile virus
We test your blood for West Nile virus from July to December. If you have travelled to regions where only the West Nile virus is present, you can give blood at our clinic during this time without a waiting period.
Unfortunately, you cannot donate at the moment.
You can give blood again 4 months after the tattoo or piercing have been done.
(Small) injuries occur during these treatments. These can be entry points for bacteria and viruses. A waiting period of 4 months applies so that inflammation or infection can be ruled out.

Gastrointestinal endoscopy
Unfortunately, you cannot donate at the moment. You can give blood again 4 months after the gastrointestinal endoscopy.
